Day One - Taipei

Day One - Sightseeing Tour
The day started at 7:30 a.m. and thanks to the jet lag, I don't think anyone had any issues waking up that early. We had breakfast in the city at nice breakfasty restaurant, followed up a museum tour of the National Palace Museum, which was good, however after 30 mins all the pots and pans started looking the same. From the Museum we went to mall, where some of us tried Taiwanese food, while the rest went to TGI FRIDAYS!!!!!!!!. That was followed by a trip to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Museum - ice monument. From this monument we went to Taipei 101 - The World's Tallest Building and although the weather was bad (light rain and wind), the view from the 82nd floor observatory deck was stunning. Few of us (Lauren, Billy, Andrew Mier, Alex, Amanda, Daniel and I) decided to investigate the real Taiwan. We took the Metro and went to the night market. The night market was really cool, with a lot fun snacky food and drinks. I personally tried some chicken on the stick - which was very tasty and also drank bubble tea which was terrible. We also walked around that area which is full of small stores which sell T-Shirts, shoes, interesting posters, jewelery, fake iPhones, fake WII - you get the picture. After a tiring walk we decided to find a pub. This pub was the highlight of the trip. It was a real hole in the wall, with interesting green and blue lighting and classic rock - if you ever go to this place, please visit the restroom...very interesting.
Billy, Alex and Andrew decided to have another round of beer, while the rest of us decided to head back to our the Cathay Life Training Center.

Hello my Name is Billy V. Andrew M., Alex B. and myself finished off about 3 more round of beer at the bar Nimesh mentioned above. Maurice, the bartender played some ACDC, Doors and CCR (i think) on the pa system. We left the pub around midnight and made our way back to the metro station to catch the train heading toward our sleeping quarters. After arriving at the last train stop we had a taxi take us the next few miles to our room location. We had no idea what the taxi driver said but he wanted more money because we had three passengers. Anyways, we paid the guy and found our way back to the rooms by 1am. It feels so much later than it is. Anyways, Maurice the bartender suggested some places we visit tomorrow night and I will try to update the blog asap. Good night because we have to be ready to depart at 7:30am.
