Day Two - Company Visits

Day Two started off really early, especially for some people that went bar hopping and slept at 1:00 a.m. Nevertheless, we all were in the bus at 7:30 a.m. in the morning. We started off with a wholesome breakfast at this hotel with an amazing view. First time in my life and probabaly the last time, I ate rice, pancakes, fries, watermelon, and pastries all for breakfast, btw the best view from the hotel was from the men's restroom. We then took an hour bus ride to Compal our first company visit. The presentation was short with lots of time for Q&A, unfortunately the presenter english wasn't good and so some of the answers were vague and difficult to understand. Just personal opinion I think that company is in trouble. We then ate lunch at this local Taiwanese restaurant - I ate the beef which was suprisingly excellenet, however few of us ate the small desert balls and even Darren and Justin that seem like virtually everything decided to pass on the Egg pudding. We followed Compal with a visit to Nehru Technology Park administrative office, which is temprorarly located in a fire station. This presentation was also short and good, the presenter spoke fairly good english. From there we headed to CyberLink, which was very similar to any software technology company in the US. Young, smart people wearing trendy clothing and working crazy hours. This was by far the best presentation. By the end of the presentation it was already 5:30 p.m. and we all were extremely tired. We decided to have dinner at a dumpling place that Alicia had suggest. It was surely the best dumplings I have ever had, but then again this was only second time I have had dumplings. At eight most of us headed back to Cathay Life extremely tired and ready to crash.

The highlights of the day were - Patrick's speech while presentating a token of appreciation to one of the presenters. We walking a mile in the rain to reach the dumpling place , when the bus could have dropped us in front of it. There were more moments but I just too tired to remember
